The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, protects individuals with disabilities from discrimination and is enforced by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The Act applies to every aspect of employment - from recruiting to hiring, training, job assignments, promotions, wages, social activities, benefits, layoffs, leaves, and termination. Employers are also required to prevent harassment because of a person’s disability.
